Bosna Asa is returning to Goodyear League after a year of pause with the new club's management and ambitious goals for the future. That is a good reason for the interview with the director of the club Dino Konaković, who became member of the club's managing stuff in May 2003 after he finished his career as a basketball player and is the representative of the new Bosna's generation. To sum up, he is one of those who wants to bring back once one of the best European teams to the old paths of fame. Let's remember: Bosna celebrated the European Champions Cup Trophy in 1979.

You are returning to Goodyear League after a year of pause. What does that mean for your club?
It is a big gain for us. For such an achievement we needed to have a quality team and it was of a big help for us that the hall in Sarajevo was full in the play-off. That means around 8000 people came every time to see us playing.

Information about the attendance at your games was really surprising during the previous season. Is it so because of the growing sports interest or is it the reflection of the social situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina?
It is absolutely the reflection of the sport's euphoria which was also caused with the arrival of the new club's management and head-coach Mensud Bajramović. We are talking about the managing group of people which was once already part of the club. When fans noticed that they started to appreciate our efforts. The team we formed soon proved itself on the court. There is already a big interest in tickets for the next season and I am pretty sure that our hall will be at the top regarding the attendance of 2004/05 Goodyear League games.

Can you tell us something more about how the roster of Bosna is supposed to look like in the next season?
In the previous season we were defeated in the final series by Široki Hercegtisak after the domination in the National Championship. During that time our team was conceived according to goals we have had. We are facing the reconstruction of the team lately. We will keep seven or eight players under the contract, mostly the key players from the previous season. Others will be newcomers. We also made our financial construction and I think we are on our way to become a stable club in Goodyear League.

Who will be the key players?
Kenan Bajramović, Siniša Kovačević and Nenad Marković will stay our pillars. The latter returned to the club in January after deciding he wants to finish his excellent career in the same club he has begun it. I think this will be his last season as a professional player. He was one of the players with a great impact on the euphoria among fans lately since he is very popular and by my opinion our greatest player after the legendary Mirza Delibašić. Bajramović re-signed for another two seasons couple of weeks ago. Marković, Kovačević, Parežanin, Bukva, Bavčić did the same. We also brought Tomović from Banjalučka pivara, Valjevac and Kovačević. We are planning to bring another three new players who are supposed to be our strongest reinforcements for the 2004/05 season. The point-guard we are looking for will probably come from USA, besides we have to fill also the gap at the position of center power forward.

What are your goals for the 2004/05 season in Goodyear League?
Our primary goal is the National Championship. Fortunately we do not have to play it in the first part of the season so we will be able to stabilize the team through games and practices in Goodyear League. It is difficult to discuss our goals now. First, we have to test ourselves in some Goodyear League’s games. But I am sure all our opponents will have problems defeating us in Sarajevo. I would say the middle of the Goodyear League’s standing would be a reality.
