The celebration was long after Široki Prima pivo won the tenth national trophy in Bosnia and Herzegovina so there is no surprise that preparations for the new one still hasn’t started. One of the priorities is currently definitely the question who will coach the team in the 2007/08 season…
Josip Vranković who successfully started his coaching career in the previous season became the target of many other clubs, among which Cibona is also very interested in him. Althoug Široki Prima pivo would like to keep him for the future this looks like a mission impossible but until at least a slight chance appears Široki will try to make a deal. The roster is the second problems of the club since almost the entire team ran out of the contract.
Damir Vujanović, Ivan Opačak, Siniša Štemberger, Vedran Princ, Ivan Mimica, Darren McLinton, Cyril Apkomedah and Anthony Bethel are all without a contract currently. Vujinović will most likely finish his professional careere, Opačak is close to sign with the Spanish Menorca while other would like to stay in Široki Brijeg. Even some foreign players said they are willing to stay. Among those still under the contract the biggest enigma is the young center Stanko Barać who will participate at the 2007 NBA draft and is in New York for already three weeks. Even if he will not pass the draft successfully, it will be difficult to keep him for Široki Prima pivo since many foreign clubs like Barcelona, Pamesa, Unicaja, Roma and Cibona are interested to sign him.
