Cibona is firmly decided to stay atop of the NLB standings which reflected also the statement of its head-coach Dražen Anzulović after the victory against Bosna ASA BHT on Saturday. He stated that he is not at all satisfied with what players showed during the game since they didn’t follow his instructions to play on the maximum level nonetheless the most important game in Euroleague follows during the week.
While Cibona despite all mentioned celebrated another victory this can not be said about Union Olimpija. An excellent performance of Teemu Rannikko who made no less then 22 points out of 37 in only six minutes in the second period didn’t help the team to achieve a victory against Hemofarm. The latter was better despite playing with many players who had a flu in the previous days. The biggest surprise probably comes from Zadar where Helios defeated the hosting team for the second time in a season after a thrilling and dramatic finish. It is to mention that Zadar was ahead for ten or more points during the game but didn’t succeed to keep the advantage. Crvena zvezda had a lot of problems in Široki Brijeg before finally it has made a significant difference while the other team from Belgrade, Partizan rolled over Split. After losing Goran Jeretin during the week Budućnost confronted FMP quite weakened but that was not seen on the court since the game was decided not before the final seconds – in favour of FMP. In Ljubljana, Geoplin Slovan hosted Zagreb but hopes about a success were vanished already in the third period.
