The national team of Serbia and Montenegro was very successful while playing at the international tournament in Bormio, Italy. After defeating Greece on the first day 79:75, S&MN; won also against the hosting Italy 75:70 the day after.
The head-coach Dragan Šakota was not able to count on two players while meeting the national team of Italy. Ognjen Aškrabić was sidelined after suffering a slight injury while Igor Rakočević was resting.
