Maccabi Tel Aviv turned back the clock with a classic performance in a 91:83 win over Cibona on Thursday night at Nokia Arena to secure a berth in the Top 16. Maccabi received fantastic performances from three of its biggest stars left from the dynasty that won back-to-back Euroleague titles and reached another final in recent years. All-Euroleague center turned in 29 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks to lead the charge. Team captain Derrick Sharp was 4-of-6 from downtown on his way to 19 points and a career-high 5 steals. But it was Tal Burstein who stole the show in his first home game since suffering an Achilles injury last June.

Scorers for Maccabi: Bynum 3, Felix 2, Sharp 19, Vujčić 29, Eliyahu 14, Burstein 17, Jasaitis 3, Halperin 4; for Cibona: Wright 2, Warren 23, Kus 19, Krasić 15, Andrić 8, Rozić 5, Wisniewski 11.

Partizan showed its power and stayed in the fight to make it to the Top 16 in difficult group B by simply overwhelming injury-plagued Union Olimpija 106:60 in Belgrade on Wednesday. Partizan improved to 5-7 and will at least tie for the fifth spot in group B at the end of this week. Partizan still has two critical games left, a visit to Panathinaikos next week and the regular season finale at home against Unicaja, also 5-7. Olimpija, meanwhile, dropped to 3-9 and is all but mathematically out of the Top 16 race.
