The traditional friendly basketball tournament, this year already in its 12th version, will take place from tomorrow until Saturday in Hala Tivoli in Ljubljana. Every September this is one of the last chances for the participants to check in how good shape they are before the beginning of the season and what else they should change in their play. Four teams confirmed their participations this year, beside Slovenian champion Krka and vice-champion Union Olimpija also Crvena zvezda and Tofaš. The first three will mostly attract the interest of the public as they will meet each other in next season’s Goodyear League with pretty changed rosters.
Nikola Jestratijević joined Crvena zvezda for the first time this week after he officially signed for the club from Beograd. On the other hand Union Olimpija still has both Americans Jerry Holman and Darrell Tucker on a tryout and this might be the opportunity for Olimpija’s fans to see them play. Krka also changed its roster before next season and will meet Union Olimpija on Friday.
