Bad results in the previous season, which put Slovenia on the last place in the national standings , are the reason that this country will have only two clubs in ABA League next season. It is Krka and Union Olimpija, which guaranteed a spot.
To a big dissapointment of Helios the latter didn't qualify for the regional competition, which was a prime goal this season. But with only the third place in the League for the champion this is impossible even in case Helios becomes the national champ. Namely, Union Olimpija (2nr in NC) already fullfilled all criterias for Euroleague and therefore automatically got a spot in ABA league regardless of its placement.
