Feal Široki, the champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Cup winner, is in the final stage of preparations for the upcoming season. After the basic faze, when the team was in Kupres, players are now 'working' in Široki brijeg. In contrast to the previous season the club did not bring many newcomers but tried to place mostly its own young players on the roster.

After Stipe Šarlija, Gordan Zadravec, Edi Vulić, Ivan Opačak, Frano Karač, Goran Jelčić, Đuro Raguľ and Branko Šimić left the team, the only newcomers are power forward Jasmin Perković (Zadar), guard Marin Pijaca (Hermes Analitica) and American center David Crouse (Banjalučka pivara).

'We decided for the younger team although I believe that will not affect our results. Some of the youngsters, like Ramljak and Princ, already proved during the preparations. I'm glad of that. I am also convinced that Perković, Crouse and Pijaca will be an appropriate exchange for Zadravec, Šarlija and Vulić. Our main goal is to gather as many wins as possible in Goodyear League and being 1st or 2nd in the national championship as only that would guarantee us the place in Goodyear League in the future,' club's president Ante Suton said.

Feal Široki played eight friendly games until now and reached five wins (against Posuąje 80:58, Split CO 80:76, Trepča 68:58, Alkar Sinj 88:76, Posuąje 114:62) and three losses, all of them at the latest tournament in Tuzla (Split, Sloboda Dita and Reflex).

Next friendly game is scheduled for September 24th against Alkar in Sinj.
