In its first game of the season, Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv beat Efes Pilsen Istanbul 89-78. The game was played in Bormio, Italy.
Maccabi led 24-20 at the end of the first quarter but the Turks were 45-42 up at half time. In the third Maccabi took a 15 pts lead and kept it till the end of the game.
New point guard Lior Lubin, suffered a suspected nose fracure in the third period.
