The third quarter barried all hopes for Budućnost to assure the place among the first two teams in the Group E and promote to the elimination rounds. The team from Podgorica was defeated by Le Mans (67:78) which made a partial result 13:0 between the 25th and 30th minute and escaped for good. Budućnost knew very good how important the game in France will be but the task was just too difficult especially because Veselin Petrović, Ninoslav Marjanović and Miloš Minić were not able to play.
