The Slovenian National Team suffered its first defeat in the fourth round of the qualifications for the European Championship 2005. It was defeated by France 69:85.

Since Beno Urdih had to skip the game due to injury while Rašo Nesterović was permitted to leave the team following the early agreement with the head-coach Aleš Pipan, the latter called in Aleksandar Ćapin. Nonetheless Slovenia was unable to resist France which revanched for the defeat in the first round. Slovenia is second place at the Group D standing.
