Basketball fans will have a lot of opportunities to enjoy this week-end at the international tournament in Maribor where Union Olimpija, Cibona, Crvena zvezda and Anwil will participate. Unfortunately Skipper called off in the last minute because head-coach Jasmin Repeąa has too many problems with injured players to compose the team. Instead the organizer invited Anwil coached by Slovene Andrej Urlep, which is on a training camp in Slovenia.
Union Olimpija will play there with all its players after Croatian Marino Baľdarić and Slovene Simon Petrov, who played at the EC in Sweden, already joined the team. The last one is Robert Štelmahers who will come tomorrow morning. This will be also the first opportunity for head-coach Sašo Filipovski to test American power forward Jerry Holman who came to the tryout in Ljubljana.
On the other side Nikola Jestratijević, who has just signed for Crvena zvezda, will not play yet but he will join the team before the tournament in Ljubljana next week. Cibona will play with all players as members of the national team already joined the others.
