FMP recovered after the Saturday's NLB League break-down against Union Olimpija in Ljubljana and beat Zagreb in the EuroChallenge Last 16 second round on the road while Scavolini won impressively against Budućnost in Group K.
The team from Belgrade achieved an 83-78 triumph at Zagreb which left the Serbians on top of Group J at 2-0 with Zagreb now 1-1. »After this game we have a lot of reasons to be happy. We were in a horrible situation after having lost in Ljubljana three days ago. I don't remember ever losing a game with 41 points in my whole career. That game has mobilized all of us, we didn't want to get embarrased again in Zagreb,« said the coach Vlado Đurović while his collegue, Zagreb's coach Denis Bajramović added:"I would like to congratulate my collegue Đurović and his team on the deserved victory. No matter how mininally we were losing the follow up did not look good for us. I can't say anything against my players, we prepared well but it is just a day when nothing goes well. We have a series of six victories, in some of the games we scored the shots we missed tonight and this is the reason of this lost game.«
Budućnost had a dream start and led 28-21 at the end of the first quarter. Scavolini reduced the deficit to 42-38 by half-time, though, and after a tight first seven minutes of the third quarter, they took the lead for good. "We did ok in first quarter, good intensity, good threepoint shooting, but then Scavolini came back and we didn't play defense as planned. When we were winning we made also stupid mistakes that didn't help us to take a strong lead. Then in the third quarter Scavolini took the lead and then we never had the chance to get back in it,« said the head-coach of Budućnost Dejan Radonjić.
